Is it possible that as we focus so intensely on what we want that we forget to Whom we are praying?

My attempts to control my life (or anyone else’s life) is an attempt to BE God, which is quite stressful. Anytime I try to take on God’s attributes as if they were my own is always an attempt in taking on more stress in my life.
Our vision of worship, our vision of the Christian life is too small. We need God to show up and speak convincingly to our wretched hearts.
