First of all, I am a child of God only by the grace of God. I am nothing without Him and am thankful for His love and mercy shown to me every day. Also, I love my wife and my children and desire to be the best husband and father I can by pointing them to Jesus, with God’s help.
Occupationally, I have over 12 years full-time ministry experience as well as 8 years of lay leadership experience before then as a lay person in congregations. I am currently a pastor in the Tallassee, AL area. I also am an adjunct professor at Birmingham Theological Seminary teaching mostly Apologetics courses. I am a “people-person” and I have a passion for preaching the gospel and sharing God’s Word with everyone. My ministry experience includes preaching/teaching in various settings, leading others in outreach, ministering to the sick, listening to others in crisis situations, responding to difficult questions, leading ministry teams to accomplish objectives, youth/children’s/college-career ministry, and many other ministerial duties.
One of my primary ministry convictions is that I believe the basis of all our Christian living flows from a deeper understanding of the Gospel message. All outreach and activities are founded upon, and fueled by, the gospel of Christ. I also have a desire to reach doubters and skeptics for Christ, as well as assist Christians who have questions about the Christian faith. In an effort to become better equipped to reach doubters and skeptics, I have finished my Master of Arts in Apologetics degree from Birmingham Theological Seminary (2014) to go along with my Master of Divinity degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (2006) and my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alabama (Religious Studies major, 2002).
My desire is to glorify the Lord wherever I am and to be careful to give Him all the praise for anything good in my life.
